The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity available for a highly capable Purchasing Officer to join our Wattleup team on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Officer your key responsibilities will include:
* Receipting and updating purchase orders and International Shipments.
* Expediting outstanding orders and updating expected delivery dates.
* Raising purchase orders on preferred suppliers (both domestic and international) for stock, capital equipment and consumables
* Resolving any supplier discrepancies including pricing, quality, or quantity variances, in conjunction with Accounts Payable, Quality and Technical.
* Replenish stocks from reorder reports based on order points and order quantities.
* Send RFQ's to suppliers, source goods based on best price, quality and lead time.
* Coordinating shipments (Road, Air Sea) from Domestic and International suppliers, liaising with freight forwarders.
* Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers.
* Work in conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor and Supply Chain Manager to ensure parts and stock are delivered and issued on time and within the system guidelines.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal staff
About You
* Previous experience working in purchasing, inventory control or a similar role.
* Experience working within the mining or manufacturing industry would be an advantage.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point). Experience using Pronto ERP software (or similar) is advantageous.
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to respond to changing work environment and multitask accordingly
* Proactive and flexible approach with sound judgement and ability to use initiative.
* High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
