About The Role
As the new Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) in Domestic and Family Violence (DFV), you will be responsible for contributing your expertise to provide leadership in patient-centred care and consultancy for people experiencing domestic and family violence. On any given day, you will be providing forensic responses to women who report domestic violence; linking with Emergency Departments, Aboriginal Medical Centres and Domestic Violence centres to provide support to patients; making appointments within the community health setting for women wanting forensic responses at a later date; and so on. A new model of care is being developed within the DFV space, so this is a great opportunity to broaden your skillsets and in turn, achieve better healthcare outcomes for women in the community. There is also potential for an extension of the role into July 2027, giving you the opportunity to create a real difference in the lives of women experiencing Domestic & Family Violence.
You won't be working alone – you will be working in tandem with a Social Worker to support the women when they present. You will also be supported by District Domestic & Family Violence Project Manager, the Clinical Coordinator, as well as the broader Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) team. Very clear medical support is also available.
As Our Newest CNC, You Will
* Be self-directed in your work with a drive to achieve health outcomes
* Have experience with quality projects and developing models of care.
* Enjoy solving problems in a collaborative setting
* Be willing to work within an on-call roster.
