Overview
Jones Welding Solutions are recruiting for a Welding Inspector. We have a long-term contract for ongoing maintenance and shutdown works servicing South 32 refinery in the Southwest region.
As a Welding Inspector, you will actively provide leadership and guidance to the JWS team, ensuring we are operating in compliance with the welding specification, standards, and welding codes.
Sportsman Roster: 5on 5off / 4on 4off
12-hour shifts
Dayshift only
Immediate start required
The successful applicant will have:
- Valid Driving License
- Trade qualification in welding or fabrication
- Working at Heights (within 2 years)
- Confined Space (within 2 years)
- Construction Induction Card (White or Blue card)
- Certification as a welding inspector (CSWIP 3.1 / IWI-B)
- Knowledge and understanding of the foundations of welding processes
- Ability to read complex technical drawings
- 3 year’s experience in a similar role
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and site medical testing
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supervising welding processes on the shop floor
- Carry out Daily Inspection Audits to ensure all items on the audit document are recorded, controlled, and managed as required by the QMS
- Assuring site compliance with the relevant quality standards
- Reviewing welding quality documents
- Training the welders on the job, making sure good practices are followed
- Maintaining of current and updating of welder qualification including recent qualifications as required by upcoming planned work scopes
- Physically oversee the receipt of materials to ensure they correspond with the paperwork and certificates received and collate material deliveries with QA Administrator
- Assist with the maintenance and continual improvement of the current welding managements systems
- Development of all welding traceability documentation and drawings
- Maintaining weld procedures and documents
