Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world's manganese ore production. ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns to Groote Eylandt.
As the Technician Maintenance - Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and rebuilding surface mobile mining equipment.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
* Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy mobile equipment and plant, light vehicles, electric vehicles and forklifts.
* Attend to vehicle and equipment breakdowns.
* Maintain, diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems.
* Diagnose and repair faults on advanced auto electrical circuits.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
* Proficient with Caterpillar, Cummins, Sandvik, Komatsu and/or Hitachi mining equipment
* Skilled in fault-finding and diagnostics on advanced auto-electrical systems
* Experienced in servicing and repairing automotive air-conditioning systems
* Understanding of mobile mining equipment electrical systems and software
* Proactive and safety-focused, promoting safe work practices and risk reduction
Qualifications for this position are:
* Trade (Auto Electrician)
* Refrigerant Handling Licence
* Current C Class Drivers Licence
