As an APS 6 Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the department's procurement and contract management processes. On offer is a 12 month non-ongoing contract or section 26 transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
As an APS 6 Procurement Officer, you will:
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders and staff.
- Work under limited direction in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and standard processes.
- Lead a small team to undertake a range of procurement-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and contribute to long-term planning.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Record Keeping: Prepare and record complex procurement-related correspondence and documentation.
- Probity and Quality Assurance: Develop, conduct, and report on probity and quality assurance measures, ensuring procurement compliance.
- Risk/Issues Management: Assess and document risks and issues related to procurement activities.
- Supply Planning: Provide advice on supply planning, including end dates and next steps.
- Relationship Management: Represent the department at stakeholder meetings, addressing complex matters and negotiating issue resolutions.
- Business Support: Contribute to innovation and business improvement, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Education: Provide strategic training to support best practices and create support tools for the departments staff.
