The Opportunity
Are you looking for the next step in your leadership career? This role will be involved with the Allied Health and Community directorate to participate, support and facilitate professional development and supervision. The Psychologist is responsible for providing assessment and intervention for individuals supported by the Samaritans Therapy and Behaviour Support Team (TaBS), including people with disability. This position will focus on building the capacity, skills and knowledge of the person, their families, and supporting services.

Based in Newcastle or Central Coast; service delivery across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Central Coast

About You
Current AHPRA Registered Psychologist
Experience in paediatric psychological assessment and therapy, with a focus on supporting NDIS participants and diagnostic assessments for children 0-16 years
Understanding of current trends and approaches underpinning early intervention services for children 0-8 years with a disability
Experience working with adults as a psychologist and supporting individuals living with a disability in a range of settings
Demonstrated history of trauma-informed practice
Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
Ability to communicate recommended intervention strategies with a range of stakeholders
High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Understanding of confidentiality principles and WHS responsibilities
Knowledge of diverse cultures and community needs
