The Managing Director is responsible for setting and executing the strategy of a multi-site retail organisation to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and superior customer outcomes. As the senior leader of the business, you will build a high-performance culture and represent the organisation across the travel retail industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and deliver the retail and commercial strategy, translating market insights and company objectives into clear annual business plans
* Drive sales growth, profitability, cost discipline, and customer service excellence against agreed performance targets
* Act as the primary representative of the organisation with key internal and external stakeholders, including board members, airport authorities, unions, suppliers, media, and partners
* Lead, develop, and empower the leadership team through clear objectives, accountability, and effective communication
* Partner with the regional executive team to pursue and secure expansion opportunities domestically and internationally
* Champion innovation, digitalisation, and continuous improvement to ensure agility in a dynamic operating environment
Reporting and Governance
* Reports to the Chief Executive Officer, Asia-Pacific
* Participates in quarterly Board meetings for the Oceania business
Experience and Capabilities
* Master's degree or equivalent, with substantial senior leadership experience in retail or customer-centric organisations, ideally within an international or airport-based environment
* Proven experience working with boards, airport authorities, and complex stakeholder groups
* Strong strategic, commercial, and operational leadership capability with the ability to perform under pressure
* Credible, authentic leader with the presence to represent the organisation at industry and board level
* Track record of empowering leaders, driving accountability, and delivering results
* Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally
