Job Description

The Learning and Resource Advisor is responsible for cultivating an online information resource environment and providing support to students in a Learning Hub both online and on campus.

This role will assist all learners in evaluating and finding appropriate learning resources, ensuring a high standard of student academic skill support and advice. Managing print, IT, and electronic resources, the Learning and Resource Coordinator will contribute to supporting and enriching student learning, research, and assessment processes.

The role is also responsible for providing structured individual and group learning development that is tailored to meet the particular learning needs of students aligned with discipline curriculum objectives. This will be provided via individual, group and skill support via consultation, generic and embedded workshops and through the provision of resources to support learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Learning resource management:

* Curate and organise digital collections, ensuring easy access to online resources such as e-books, databases, journals, and multimedia materials.
* Collaborate with staff to assess and acquire new learning resources based on user needs and emerging trends.
* Develop and maintain and organise physical learning resources, such as textbooks, reference materials, and multimedia resources.

Learning Hub Support and Assistance:

* Assist students in utilising learning resources effectively to enhance their learning experience.
* Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate students and staff on effective use of information resources, research techniques, and information literacy.
* Assist students in navigating and effectively using the Learning Hub, including computer workstations, software applications, and printing services.
* Troubleshoot technical issues related to online resources and Learning Hub equipment and escalate complex problems to the appropriate technical support.

Student individual and group support:

* Work collaboratively with the student support team in the delivery of effective student support
* Assist students at academic risk within the intervention frameworks including assisting individual students, in consultations, with academic and discipline skill development, language enhancement and assessments.
* Developing, implementing and monitoring resources, programs and services which develop study skills and language proficiency of students, in conjunction with the Academic Director
* Refer students to the Student Counsellor, Course Coordinators, and other core professional services as appropriate.
* Support academic teams to ensure learning development goals are achieved as part of student success plans.
* Manage student intervention strategies and maintain accurate tracking and documentation.
* Contribute to the organisation and delivery of student orientation and transition activities.
* Any other duties assigned by Academic Director.

Policies, procedures and compliance:

* Adhere to established CSU and Navitas information management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and intellectual property rights.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulatory environment including ESOS Act, National Code, and any other regulatory frameworks that may apply.

Qualifications

* A Master's qualification in TESOL, Library or Linguistic is preferred.
* Previous experience working in Academic Skill or student academic support environment is desirable.
* Experience in the provision of language and learning support including assessing learning needs and writing skills.
* Demonstrated experience in the development and facilitation of study skills workshops.
* Knowledge of information literacy principles and ability to instruct others in research techniques and citation practices.
* Familiarity with online learning resource management systems, digital cataloguing, and database management
* Strong computer skills, including knowledge of software applications, internet research techniques, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment
