The Role
Safety Bay SHS is seeking an experienced and highly organised Program Coordinator – School Operations to provide educational leadership and operational oversight across key whole-school systems and processes.
Working as a member of the school's leadership team, the Program Coordinator – School Operations plays an important role in leading, coordinating and managing operational systems that enable effective teaching, learning and student pathways. The position has responsibility for the strategic coordination of assessment, data, timetabling and school-wide operational processes, ensuring compliance with departmental policy and legislative requirements while driving continuous school improvement.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Leading the development and management of whole-school timetabling, duty rosters, examination schedules and school calendars to maximise educational opportunities and pathways for students.
* Facilitating and managing system and standardised assessments, including National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA), Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) and Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), as well as school-based examination processes.
* Coordinating school surveys and analysing school and system data sets to inform decision-making and support improved student outcomes through effective Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
* Establishing, maintaining and continuously improving administrative and operational systems, including the effective use of the Compass Student Information System, to ensure accurate data collection, reporting and compliance.
* Collaborating with the Executive Team, Heads of Learning Area and external agencies (including the School Curriculum and Standards Authority) to ensure all Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and assessment requirements are met.
* Contributing to the development and implementation of the School Business Plan, policies and procedures through participative decision-making
* Managing human and physical resources within the area of responsibility and supporting workforce effectiveness.
* Assisting with the coordination of significant school events and operational priorities across the school calendar.
The successful applicant will ideally display strong systems thinking, high-level organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to lead operational improvement in a complex secondary school environment.
A teaching role may be required as part of this position.
