The position is based in Accor's flagship Canberra hotel, Novotel Canberra conveniently based in the city centre opposite the light rail. We are a 286 room hotel with 7 conferencing and event facilities hosting all events from Corporate groups to sports teams.

**Job Description**:
We're looking for a dynamic and energetic Conference & Groups Coordinator that will contribute towards provide exceptional guest experience. You will coordinate a range of events within a busy department acting as a key point of contact for internal communication between departments, ensuring we deliver on client expectations. You will formulate banquet event orders to detail clients needs, ensuring this is communicated clearly to operational teams.

**Qualifications**:
The successful applicant will ideally have:

- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to easily build rapport with internal and external clients
- A 'quick thinker' with excellent problem solving skills
- A great team player, who proactively looks to assist where possible
- Organised with a high attention to detail and the ability to coordinate a number of events simultaneously
- Previous experience in sales environment, with good understanding of events/hospitality operations (desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in events/hospitality or related business discipline (desirable)
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
