The Opportunity
Randstad are partnering with a respected medium-sized civil contractor based in
Doncaster, Melbourne
seeking an experienced Civil Estimator.
Working closely with two hands-on directors of the business you will play a key role in pricing for upper-tier commercial builder clients covering the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Manage the entire tender process, from initial inquiry through to final submission and negotiation.
Conduct detailed analysis of specifications, drawings and tender documents.
Specialist focus on estimating and pricing:
Bulk and Detailed Earthworks
Kerb and Channel works
Asphalting and Pavement construction
Basement Construction (excavation, retention and structural elements)
Piling, Capping Beams and Shotcrete works
Secure and negotiate competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare clear, comprehensive and well-structured tender submissions and reports.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the site team to ensure a seamless handover and project execution.
What You'll Bring
A minimum of
3-5 years of hands-on, end-to-end estimating experience
within the civil construction sector, specifically in Australia.
Mandatory specialist experience
in pricing complex basement retention systems (piling, capping beams, shotcrete) and large-scale earthworks packages.
A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong proficiency with estimating software (such as Buildsoft, Candy, MudPulse, MudShark or similar).
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
