Design Engineer for Propulsion Systems The position of Structures Design Engineer is a key role in the development of flight hardware at SpaceX. As a member of the design team, you will be responsible for designing and building metallic structures and propulsion fluid systems under accelerated timelines. You will review specifications and other engineering data to develop mechanical systems, update designs and drawings through engineering change orders to support SpaceX's rapid pace of design iteration, and create detailed component and assembly drawings incorporating an understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design and drafting, with experience in 3D CAD software such as NX or Solidworks. You should also have a solid understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups, as well as hands-on experience working in school clubs or project teams designing hardware in a highly constrained system under defined timelines. The ideal candidate will be able to manage large assembly models and drawings, work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and leadership, and bring multiple disciplines together to achieve buy-in for a unified design direction. In addition to technical skills, this role requires strong communication and documentation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
