Having strong partnerships with our clients sees us providing the best candidates to fit the job Graduate Chemist – Polymers & Coatings About the Role Reporting to the Technical and R&D Manager, the Graduate Chemist will assist with formulation development, laboratory testing, quality investigations and continuous improvement projects across a broad range of polymer-based products. You will gain exposure to real-world manufacturing environments while working alongside experienced chemists and technical specialists. This role offers hands-on experience across: Polymer and adhesive technologies Waterproofing and membrane systems Coatings and construction chemicals Product formulation and testing Manufacturing scale-up and trials Quality assurance and technical documentation Key Responsibilities Assist in the formulation and development of new polymer, coating and adhesive products Conduct laboratory testing and performance evaluations on raw materials and finished products Support product improvement and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with batch adjustments, product troubleshooting and technical investigations Conduct viscosity, pH, density and performance testing Prepare samples for internal and external testing Support manufacturing trials and pilot batches Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation Assist in preparing technical reports and product specifications Ensure laboratory housekeeping and safety standards are maintained Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Technical and Supply Chain teams Assist with root cause investigations relating to product performance or manufacturing issues Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures and safety requirements Skills & Experience Essential Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline Strong interest in polymers, coatings, adhesives or construction materials Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Good organisational and time management skills Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Desirable Previous laboratory, manufacturing or internship experience Exposure to coatings, adhesives, membranes or polymer systems Understanding of QA/QC processes Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and procedures Exposure to ISO or manufacturing environments Recruiting Partners Australia are driven and passionate to embrace diversity and equal employment opportunities and encourage any suitable candidates to apply.
