About the Organization
The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation provides mental health support to young people aged 8-18 who are living in families impacted by mental illness. The Role
This is a broad, hands-on generalist role focused on operational HR services for a remote nationwide workforce. You’ll coordinate recruitment and onboarding, support managers, maintain accurate records, and help embed consistent, values-aligned HR practices. This is a fully remote role with flexible setup; the position is ideally full time, with an option for part-time (0.8 FTE) depending on preference.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver smooth, values-aligned recruitment and onboarding that set people up for success from day one
- Respond to HR queries with clarity and care, supporting both managers and employees
- Assist with conduct, performance and probation processes
- Maintain accurate HR records, compliance logs and dashboards
- Coordinate policy implementation and documentation processes
- Contribute to initiatives that improve connection, wellbeing and recognition
- Help ensure consistent HR practice and award compliance (SCHADS and NES)
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a generalist HR Advisor or Coordinator role
- Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, NES and modern awards
- Ability to apply policies and award conditions to practical situations
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Explicit, respectful communication and professional judgement
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Problem-solving skills with a growth mindset
- Ambitious with a drive to learn and grow your career
- Preferred: experience with ELMO and Culture Amp; familiarity with SCHADS and supporting a casual workforce
