About the role
This is a casual cook position at the Tatong Tavern, a well-established local pub in Tatong, Victoria. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our guests in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent chance for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who thrives in a team-oriented, hospitality setting.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the head chef with meal preparation and cooking using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Plating and garnishing dishes to the highest presentation standards
- Restocking and organising kitchen supplies as needed
- Working closely with the service team to ensure timely delivery of meals
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment
What we're looking for
- Prior experience as a cook or kitchen hand in a hospitality setting
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service
