About the Role
As the Housing Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of a portfolio of rental villages. You'll work closely with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to manage day-to-day operations, compliance, and tenant engagement, while supporting those with more complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tenant queries, complaints, appeals, and represent at NCAT as required.
- Conduct regular inspections of villages and individual dwellings.
- Monitor tenancy budgets including rental income, arrears, vacancies, and recharges.
- Maintain accurate tenant records via CRM systems.
- Ensure compliance with the Retirement Villages Act and related housing legislation.
- Liaise with Asset Management to ensure timely maintenance and property compliance.
- Build and maintain relationships with external Real Estate Agents and monitor performance.
- Support tenancy allocations, vacancy management, refurbishments, and new tenant sign-ups.
- Work with program teams to meet specific contractual obligations.
- Refer tenants to appropriate support services as needed.
About You,
You will bring:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in human services, housing or property management (Retirement Living, Social or Affordable Housing highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of tenancy legislation, compliance, and asset maintenance.
- Proven experience managing budgets, arrears, and financial targets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with CRM or tenant management systems.
Even better if you have:
- Experience in Retirement Living services.
- A commercial mindset with a proactive approach to improvement.
