The role
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will take charge of overseeing operations, including the strategic planning and coordination of our fleet within a dynamic 24/7 operation. With your passion for developing, supporting, and mentoring your team, you will inspire them to reach their full potential to contribute to ongoing success.
This role requires flexibility to participate in seven days on, seven days off after-hours phone roster.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and schedule vehicle movements efficiently adhering to legislative requirements.
2. Oversee fleet maintenance, cleanliness, licensing, certification, and driver training inductions and assessments.
3. Inspire, coach, and develop employees to maximize their potential, creating a positive inclusive work environment.
4. Work closely with clients to ensure strong ongoing relationships and KPIs are achieved.
5. Ensure full compliance with all company policies, including Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental standards as well as workers' compensation protocols.
6. Support with handling HR matters including recruitment and selection processes in compliance with the HR policies and procedures.
You will bring:
1. Proven management and leadership experience.
2. Sound knowledge and experience of the transport industry.
3. Expertise in Chain of Responsibility WHS/OHS, and NHVR.
4. Working knowledge of the Dangerous Goods Industry preferred.
5. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
