Reporting to the Head of Environment & Heritage, the Senior Environment Advisor is responsible for driving environmental performance at our Mardie Operation, including implementing key management plans and maintaining reporting requirements. You will also play a role in leading, mentoring and building capacity in an Environmental Field Technician and also a site-based Indigenous Ranger.

The Role
The Senior Environment Advisors are responsible for ensuring the Mardie Salt Operation and associated project activities are delivered in full compliance with environmental conditions, regulatory requirements, and BCI Minerals' internal policies and standards. As key members of the Operations team, you will work closely with both site and Perth-based stakeholders to provide proactive environmental support, guidance, and oversight.
You will lead the implementation and ongoing management of critical environmental programs, maintain accurate records for statutory reporting, and contribute to the delivery of key Environmental Management Plans. You will also play a role in leading, mentoring and building capacity in an Environmental Field Technician and also a site-based Indigenous Ranger.
About You
We are seeking two experienced, hands-on Environmental professionals with strong technical backgrounds and 5 + years of experience in the Mining or Resources sector. Each successful candidate will bring confidence working alongside construction and operations teams, with the ability to analyse environmental data, provide informed recommendations, and ensure compliance across a developing project environment. A solid working knowledge of safety and environmental management systems, along with proficiency in MS Office, is essential.
The ideal candidates will be effective communicators with strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills, and a high level of attention to detail. You will thrive in a complex team environment, demonstrate resilience and adaptability as the project evolves, and maintain a disciplined approach to delivering outcomes within defined timeframes. Experience in the salt industry and competency in operating 4WD vehicles will be highly regarded.
This role will lead a small team, with two direct reports including an Environmental Field Technician and an Indigenous Ranger as part of our developing Indigenous Ranger Program. You will provide clear leadership and direction while establishing team priorities, managing workloads, and ensuring key environmental deliverables are achieved within required timeframes. The role plays a key part in fostering open communication and collaboration, ensuring the team is well supported and appropriately resourced to perform effectively.
The successful candidates will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than three months and, if site-based, must hold a WA White Card.
