We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Training Advisor to join our team at our underground mine in Broken Hill. This is a key role responsible for driving high-quality training delivery, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting our workforce to develop the skills they need to work safely and effectively.
About the Role:
As the Senior Training Advisor, you will play a critical role in coordinating, delivering and maintaining training frameworks across site. You will work closely with operational leaders, trainers, and subject matter experts to ensure workforce capability meets the needs of a complex underground mining environment.
Be advised this is a residential-based position, on a Monday-Friday roster.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supporting the site training function, including mentoring Training Advisors and collaborating with operational departments.
* Developing, delivering and assessing training packages for underground and surface operations.
* Managing statutory training compliance in line with NSW WHS (Mines & Petroleum Sites) legislation.
* Maintaining accurate training records and reporting within Perilya's training management systems.
* Auditing training documentation, authorisations, and competencies to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
* Liaising with supervisors, managers and new starters regarding onboarding and mandatory training requirements.
* Supporting projects related to training, capability uplift, process improvement and systems development.
About You:
You will be an engaging communicator who can build strong relationships across site and confidently influence training outcomes.
You will bring:
* Experience in a training, learning & development, or capability role—mining or heavy industry preferred.
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation relevant to Mine Operations (NSW preferred but not essential).
* Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs and conduct assessments.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to statutory compliance.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment with competing priorities.
