As the Electrical Engineer – South Pacific, your role is pivotal in ensuring the functionality and reliability of electrical systems while minimizing ownership costs and adhering to regulations. You will support the standardization of sourcing, engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes, driving continuous improvement of assets and work processes to optimize profitability across Australia, New Zealand, and PNG. Your responsibilities cover operations, engineering, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diverse electrical systems, including substations, motors, transformers, generators, and power systems analysis, with a strong focus on influencing teams, managing contractors, and providing technical support.
What You Will Enjoy Doing
* Ensure all electrical systems provide functionality and reliability at minimal ownership costs while complying with regulations
* Support standardized sourcing, engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting strategies for electrical systems
* Drive continuous improvement of assets, processes, and people capabilities for optimized business profitability
* Manage operations, engineering, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across Australia, New Zealand, and PNG
* Influence and train operations teams to enhance plant asset reliability
* Provide technical support to operating sites and advice for maintenance teams on electrical systems
* Design and review major electrical system modifications, ensuring compliance with Linde standards
* Lead initiatives from safety alerts and ensure effective implementation
* Participate in project reviews and acceptance tests, ensuring compliance and quality documentation
* Provide expert support and contingency planning for electrical system troubleshootingReview reporting of electrical system failures, maintenance costs, and action plans
What Makes You Great
* Extensive experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HV and LV electrical systems
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment, protection systems, hazardous area management, and lightning protection design
* Proven experience conducting power system studies using ETAP
* Advanced understanding of electrical schematics and system architecture
* Proficiency in cable sizing, earth loop impedance calculations, and compliance validation
* Deep knowledge of national and international electrical codes and standards
* Demonstrated experience in root cause failure analysis and risk assessment facilitation
* Proven capability in electrical system design and implementation
