The Role
Our client, a well-established global mining company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Department Manager to lead their next phase of growth.
This is a senior leadership role with accountability for the performance and strategic direction of the engineering function. You will play a critical role in delivering innovative, practical engineering solutions while driving operational excellence within a globally recognised organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the engineering department, ensuring delivery of projects to high technical and commercial standards
* Oversee engineering studies and projects from concept design through to execution and delivery
* Translate process flows into effective and innovative engineering designs
* Present technical proposals, engineering reports, and solutions to clients
* Develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and client specifications
* Collaborate cross-functionally with technical and operational stakeholders
* Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices
The Candidate
You are a proven engineering leader with deep expertise in mineral processing or heavy minerals, and a passion for delivering high-quality, practical solutions.
Key requirements include:
* 10-15+ years’ experience in engineering, ideally within mining or mineral processing
* Prior experience in a similar leadership role within heavy minerals / mineral processing environments
* Relevant engineering qualification preferred, but not essential for candidates with strong industry experience
* Strong leadership experience managing teams and complex projects
* Demonstrated experience delivering projects from concept through to detailed design and execution
* Strong commercial acumen and client engagement skills
* Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical concepts
* Hands-on approach with a strong drive for innovation
* Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
