The Role
As a Service Technician, you will provide installation, servicing, repairs, and technical support across a range of weighing, labelling, food processing and POS equipment. This is a field-based role with plenty of variety and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, repair and maintain weighing and food processing equipment
* Install and commission weighing, POS, labelling and associated equipment
* Configure and set up new equipment
* Provide technical support to customers across POS, barcode printers, scanners and weighing systems
* Perform fault finding, calibrations and general maintenance
* Deliver excellent onsite and remote customer service
* Meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements and complete service documentation
* Participate in the after‑hours breakdown roster
* Follow all Quality, WHS and Environmental procedures
* Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment
About You
Required
* Minimum 2 years’ mechanical and/or electronic service experience (scale trade highly regarded)
* Full Driver’s Licence
* Strong mechanical, electronic and electrical fault‑finding abilities
* Good computer literacy and ability to work with modern software/equipment
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Professional presentation and customer‑focused approach
* Willingness to learn and expand product knowledge
* Ability to pass a drug & alcohol screening
* Willing to participate in after‑hours roster
Preferred
* NMI Statement of Attainment to verify weighing instruments in Classes 6.1–6.4
* Queensland roles only: Queensland Restricted Electrical Licence (preferred, not essential)
