Key Responsibilities:
Conduct risk assessments and risk reviews for Transport and Escort (T&E) activities, including aviation, road, local and regional movements.
Provide specialist risk advice for escort planning, including detainee behaviour, threat environment, staffing profiles, and control effectiveness.
Support compliance with Escort Operational Orders, contractual obligations, and ABF requirements.
Review incidents, near misses, and intelligence related to escort operations and identify systemic risks and mitigation strategies.
Work closely with Operations, Escorts, and Centre Management to ensure risk controls are practical, understood, and implemented.
Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, post-movement reviews, and assurance activities.
Assist with preparedness for high-risk or high-volume escort periods, including surge activity and complex movements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of risk tools, templates, guidance, and procedures.
Liaise with the National Risk Team to ensure consistency, escalation of high-risk matters, and alignment with enterprise risk governance.
Please note:
Candidates based at Perth will be required to travel to Northam, as required.
All locations will be required to travel to conduct Escort Location Risk Assessments.
Shifts are 8 hours in duration and rotate across all 7 days of the week, which may include weekend and/or public holiday work.
To be successful, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, security operations, or incident management within a custodial or complex operational environment.
Proven ability to remain vigilant and composed in dynamic environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, defensible risk assessments and reports.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and time‐critical tasks.
Availability and flexibility to work varied hours and travel as required.
Willingness to undertake required Risk Analyst, and/or T&E specific training and professional development.
Ability to pass health assessments and hold/obtain Working with Children Check.
