We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Product Technologist to join our industry leading team. We are seeking a Product Technologist experienced in the nursery and /or toy industries with an engineering skill set.
This role is responsible for providing a Quality Support function to the General Merchandise divisions and the management of the overall quality and safety of non-propriety Household products.

What you’ll be doing
* Providing high level technical advice & expertise to optimise an innovative, significant and growing House Brand strategy
* Partnering with the merchandise teams to develop primarily toy products and also chemical based products
* Identifying and supporting innovation in terms of new products, ideas and improvements
* Development, implementation, and administration of supplier standards
* Undertaking product investigations, technical assessments and providing solutions with aim to resolve quality issues and proactively improving products and ranges
* Partnering with Quality Teams in Asia to ensure products launched meet legal, safety and Kmart standards
* Ensuring confidence in risk-based responses to product safety and product compliance issues in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
To be successful in this team you will have:
* Qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
* Knowledge of manufacturing systems and standards
* Understanding of relevant legislation
* Experience in reading and applying Australian Standards
* Understanding of commercial retail environments
* Excellent attention to detail
* High level problem solving skills
* Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
