Whalebridge is a busy and well-regarded dining venue known for its high-quality food, strong service culture and fast-paced kitchen environment. We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Cook to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated cook who enjoys working in a high-volume venue and takes pride in producing consistent, quality meals. Key Duties: Prepare and cook menu items in line with recipes, portion control and presentation standards Manage a section during service and ensure smooth kitchen operations Supervise and guide junior cooks and kitchen hands Assist with daily prep planning and service coordination Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and ensure proper storage of food items Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety Ensure consistency and quality across all dishes leaving the kitchen Support the Head Chef with menu preparation and daily kitchen operations About You: Proven experience working as a Cook in a busy restaurant, pub or café Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong organisational and teamwork skills Reliable, punctual and able to lead by example Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays About You You hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent industry experience). You have previous experience working in a busy pub, hotel, or restaurant kitchen. You are passionate about food quality, consistency and presentation. You demonstrate strong communication skills and enjoy contributing to a positive team culture. You take pride in maintaining high hygiene, safety and organisational standards. You are reliable, flexible and committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests. You enjoy mentoring junior staff and contributing to menu development. Permanent full time role with a starting salary between $75K - $80K (plus super).
