Want to play a senior role in breaking and covering the biggest stories for the Sky News website and app? Our growing Live team is looking for a Chief Sub Editor to help lead a team of live bloggers covering the biggest stories, from the war in Ukraine to the cost of living crisis here in the UK, the current prime minister to the latest celebrity court case.
What you'll do:
- Be at the forefront of breaking news to significant audiences on our website and app
- Oversee multiple live blogs daily - ensuring the highest editorial standards are met
- Run Q&As; with senior correspondents and expert guests
- Pitch content and blog ideas with the aim of growing audience
- Encourage a team of live bloggers in our goal of being "best at live"
- Report to the Live Assistant Editor, and regularly step up into this role
What you'll bring:
- An outstanding journalist with a track record of finding and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations
- Experienced in handling breaking news scenarios
- Able to demonstrate you can refine copy at pace, excel at headlines and ensure Sky News' standards of accuracy are upheld
- Able to illustrate knowledge of SEO
- Able to manage a team
- Willing to adjust your work patterns when events require
