the teamAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the Building Operations, Building Compliance team.
The Building Compliance team is responsible for proactive compliance, inspections and audits of Class 1, 2, 3 & 9C buildings including 'anywhere anytime' audits.
The team also investigates complaints and referrals relating to non-compliant building work, issues rectification orders under various Acts (pre or post occupation), auditing and investigating private and council certifiers, management of complaints regarding certifiers and certification work.Responsibilities include:Lead, manage and undertake strategic, targeted and risk-based audit programs, including comprehensive desktop reviews and on-site audits, to detect and deter non-compliance and increase quality and standards within the NSW building industryManage high profile and contentious audits, investigations, complaints, reviews and/or policy issues relevant to the business area and provide strategic advice/recommendations to senior officers to inform decision makingDevelop, refine and maintain a compliance-based risk assessment framework and undertake regular analysis of relevant datasets and other sector trends to minimise risk and maximise safety in the NSW home building industryDetermine team priorities and allocate resources to ensure that compliance activities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with the requirements of the organisation to support optimal service deliveryProvide high level specialised building expertise and expert advice, reports and recommendations to inform decision making and support the organisation to meet its objectivesCommunicate effectively and provide timely expert advice and support to key internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved industry outcomesLead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development activities to align resources to deliver priorities and a positive customer and employee experienceEffectively maintain statistical data, records and outcomes and provide timely and accurate reporting of DRIB activities undertaken.Provide advice to senior management, regarding significant issues, industry developments, critical milestones, and identification of options that contribute to the Department's regulatory plans.Develop and maintain effective and collegiate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including key industry bodies.Maintain awareness of relevant issues, obligations, insights, challenges, industry trends and practices and opportunities to identify, evaluate, recommend and deliver innovative solutions that optimise outcomes and contribute to a best practice function in line with organisational and government priorities.To be successful in this role you will have:Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and legislation, regulation, policies and practicesDemonstrated practical experience in one or more areas of building regulationIf you'd like to know more about this role, or have any enquiries regarding the recruitment process, please contact Michael Yoon, Talent Acquisition Advisor, at ****** we need from youAn up-to-date CV and a brief cover letter (2 page maximum) outlining how your skills and experience are aligned to the role.Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at 145,378 base plus superannuationClick Here to access the Role Description.
