Rotating roster which will include weekend work, early starts and late finshes.Job Duties/Essential FunctionsDevelops, coaches, counsels, and directs Meat Department personnelMonitors employee performance and provides proactive feedback to promote teamwork and accountability
• Participates in the employment process by making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination
• Participates in Meat Department employee evaluationsResponds to employee concerns using problem solving skills, tact, and discretion in accordance with the Costco Employee Agreement and other applicable regulationsApproves timecards and other reportsImplements and upholds proper Meat Department and general safety procedures and standards
• Logs sanitation procedures performed on daily reportFollows safety and security procedures and reads labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products
• Assists with stocking cases and follows department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished productFollows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment
• Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Meat DepartmentAssists in other departments of the warehouse as necessaryDetermines production requirements and participates in meat cuttingChecks quality and consistency of finished merchandise and oversees merchandise presentation and merchandising
• Reviews sanitation log and checks for health code complianceApproves and submits physical inventory periodically and orders to buying office for equipment, merchandise and supplies
• Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machineryComputer, copier, phone, band saw, tenderiser, grinder, wheeled racks, wrapping machine and pressure washer.Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)Education/Training: High School Certificate or Trade Qualification (Butcher).
