Details: The Justice and Community Safety Directorate (JACS) is seeking an experienced, innovative, and motivated senior executive to fill the role of Executive Branch Manager, Legislation, Policy and Programs (LPP) within the Legislation, Policy, and Programs Division.
This role reports to the Executive Group Manager and involves direct supervision of senior directors.
Legislation, Policy, and Programs (LPP) advises on and develops policy and legislation in relation to all aspects of civil and criminal law in the Territory. It also develops and administers a variety of justice-related programs.
The successful applicant would lead the Criminal Law Branch. Collaborating with other agencies to further the ACT Government's law reform agenda is a critical part of the role. This role is responsible for providing the Government with high level legal policy, regulatory and ACT laws; the development and management of the law reform agenda and associated legislative program of the Directorate's Ministers.
The Executive Branch Manager will lead and manage (within budget) staff and be accountable for the development and implementation of ACT Policy on such diverse matters, criminal and public law, delivery of the justice system, discrimination, constitutional law and regulatory policy.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $289,335 - $298,258 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $254,964.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
Note: Merit pool from this recruitment may be used to fill other equivalent positions within LPP.
