Our client, an organisation undergoing a significant digital uplift is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to contribute to major ICT transformation initiatives. The environment is large‑scale, enterprise‑level, and focused on modernising systems, improving technical patterns, and enhancing overall service capability. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting major upgrade, migration and environment re‑design projects that underpin improved productivity, security and solution delivery.
About the Role
This 2 year contract supports two core ICT initiatives: a Technical Upgrade / Windows Server migration project and a Pre‑Production Environment Re‑design project. You will work within a dynamic, matrix‑managed environment, contributing to the development, maintenance and support of bespoke applications and enterprise data solutions.
Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain and support bespoke applications using Microsoft SQL Server Services (Database, Reporting, Integration, Analysis), .NET Framework and business intelligence/data warehouse technologies.
* Design SQL databases, SSRS reports and multidimensional cubes to meet varied stakeholder reporting and data analysis needs.
* Create and manage database scripts for data conversion, cleansing and issue resolution, ensuring compliance with coding standards.
* Prioritise, diagnose and resolve incidents, following agreed procedures and escalating where required.
* Provide analysis and prepare recommendations on technical matters, including identifying risks, proposing solutions and contributing to strategic decision‑making.
* Deliver technical leadership and oversight to ensure project deliverables meet quality and timeframe expectations.
* Develop and implement standards, guidelines and processes that support efficient ICT maintenance, performance and alignment with enterprise objectives.
* Analyse incident patterns and trends to support continuous improvement and proactive issue management.
