About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Cabinetmaker to join our workshop and sales team.
This dual-focused role requires strong hands-on skills paired with the technical knowledge necessary to accurately assess, measure and price custom projects.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication: Manufacture and assemble high-quality custom cabinetry, including kitchens, vanities, wardrobes, and commercial fit-outs, following detailed plans.
Cutting & Machining: Operate and maintain workshop machinery (panel saw, edge bander, CNC experience is a plus).
Quality Control: Ensure all work meets our high standards for finish, accuracy and structural integrity.
Installation: Assist with the professional and efficient installation of completed projects on-site.
Measuring & Quoting (˜40%):
Site Visits: Travel to client sites to conduct precise final check measures for manufacturing.
Technical Drawings: Interpret architectural plans and create clear cutting lists and manufacturing diagrams.
Quoting/Estimating: Prepare accurate, detailed and competitive quotes using (mention relevant software, e.g., Planit, Cabinet Vision, Excel).
Client Communication: Clearly communicate technical requirements, material options and timelines to clients, designers and project managers.
What We Are Looking For
Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Cabinetmaking/Joinery or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years post-apprenticeship experience as a Cabinetmaker.
Measuring Expertise: Proven ability to conduct highly accurate site measures (including complex angles and unusual spaces).
Quoting Acumen: Strong understanding of material costs, labour time and overheads to produce profitable quotes.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to both manufacturing and documentation.
Driver's License: Current, clean driver's licence (essential for site visits).
Tooling: Must have your own basic set of hand tools.
