Job Description
Northway Logistics The transport company manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day transport operations of the business, ensuring efficient coordination of fleet activities, freight movement, and client service delivery. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing logistics processes, maintaining operational standards, and supporting the continued growth of the company’s transport functions.

Key Responsibilities Manage the acquisition, servicing, and operational readiness of the company’s fleet, ensuring vehicles are maintained to support ongoing linehaul and subcontract transport commitments, including work performed in coordination with major logistics operators such as Linfox Liaise with commercial clients and larger logistics partners to understand freight requirements, provide suitable transport solutions, and communicate service conditions, rates, and operational expectations while addressing service issues as they arise Oversee incoming job allocations and bookings from both direct clients and contracted logistics networks, and develop efficient transport schedules to meet delivery timeframes across local and interstate routes Ensure freight is handled, stored, and transported in accordance with required conditions, particularly when managing high-volume or time-sensitive loads as part of broader supply chain operations Coordinate the dispatch, pickup, and delivery of goods, including allocating drivers, vehicles, and routes to meet fluctuating operational demands and subcontracted workloads Maintain accurate operational records, including job tracking, fleet usage, and cost reporting, and prepare regular performance reports to support business decision-making and contractual obligations Supervise daily transport activities, including loading and unloading processes, and ensure smooth coordination between drivers, warehouse points, and external logistics partners Ensure all transport operations comply with relevant workplace health and safety requirements, road transport regulations, and industry standards applicable to large-scale freight and subcontract logistics work ?
