Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation - Prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery furniture and workstation projects, including materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs
- Blueprint Analysis - Analyse blueprints, plans and other documentation to prepare time, costs, materials and labour estimates
- Consultation - Consult with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Cost Effectiveness assessments - Assess the cost effectiveness of products, projects, tracking actual cost relative to bids as the project develops
- Collaboration - Work closely with architects, builders, suppliers, procurement, other estimators and sales teams
- Documentation - Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractor, and use software to calculate estimates and evaluate a projects financial feasibility
The Ideal Candidate
- Ability to read, interpret, and perform take-offs from architectural and joinery drawings to accurately quantify materials and labour
- Strong construction knowledge, including joinery techniques, woodworking processes, industry standards, and building regulations
- Experience with Excel and Estimating tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High attention to detail and advanced analytical skills for calculating costs, assessing project risks, and identifying potential issues
