Support Specialist Role

About the Position
This role involves delivering non-clinical care and practical psychosocial support to individuals within three months following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis. This will be done through case management and coordination of services.
* Conduct outreach/home visits to offer emotional and practical support
* Facilitate connections to relevant support networks
* Assist clients and their families in understanding suicidal behaviour patterns
* Develop clear goals with individuals and families and track progress
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work are preferred
* Previous experience in mental health field or case management is beneficial
* Effective communication skills and ability to engage with diverse clientele
Applicants with expertise in working with individuals affected by suicide and holding additional certifications in ASIST, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, or cognitive behaviour therapy are highly regarded.
