About the Role
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out routine, preventative, and reactive maintenance duties on various types of plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine, preventative, and reactive maintenance duties with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
* Investigate equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, recommend and complete repairs to ensure minimal downtime.
* Evaluate and escalate major breakdowns or risks to senior management and coordinate repairs with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support maintenance projects, assist in spare parts inventory management, and contribute to the development of maintenance strategies.
* Conduct regular inspections, report issues, and recommend or conduct improvements to enhance overall performance.
* Perform all work in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
* Foster a clean and safe working environment that supports the success of our operations.
Requirements
* A recognised trade or tertiary qualification in a mechanical or electrical field.
* Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment, preferably within a commercial laundry or similar continuous processing industrial operation.
* Strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* A current Class C driver's licence, ability to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Check.
* Tickets or licences in areas such as Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space, Unattended Boiler, or Forklift operation (training may be provided for the right candidate).
This is a physically active and hands-on role requiring climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 10 kg). Work may occasionally take place at heights, in confined spaces, in noisy or hot environments. Uniforms and PPE are provided and required at all times.
