About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill our Small Business Lending and Coaching Manager position. This exciting role combines financial expertise with hands-on coaching to create sustainable change for small businesses.
* The successful candidate will use their financial skills and relationship experience to help clients start, stabilize, and grow viable small enterprises.
* Assess business viability - guide clients through business planning, cash flow management, and financial literacy.
* Coach clients through the start-up journey - helping them make sound commercial decisions and build long-term capability.
* Provide responsible lending support - assist clients with microfinance applications and loan management, applying sound credit principles.
* Build trusted relationships - engage with local business networks, community organizations, and Indigenous leaders to identify and support potential clients.
* Monitor and report on portfolio performance - using established frameworks to manage business journeys and outcomes.
Requirements:
* A strong background in business, finance, or accounting is required.
* Experience as a business banker, commercial lender, small business accountant, or advisor in financial services, or financial coach/enterprise development advisor is essential.
* Sound understanding of small business finance, cash flow, and risk is necessary.
* Excellent relationship and communication skills are crucial.
* Commercial judgment and a practical problem-solving mindset are required.
* Ability to work independently and travel across the region is necessary.
* Empathy, patience, and respect for people from diverse backgrounds - including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities - are essential.
