Associate Director (Project Finance) - Bank of China Melbourne
Bank of China is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Associate Director (Project Finance) to join the Bank's Melbourne Branch.
The primary responsibilities of this role include structuring, executing, and managing project finance transactions across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, renewables and natural resources. You will work with senior team members, assisting with financial modelling, risk assessment, documentation and due diligence, while engaging with internal and external stakeholders including sponsors, investors, financial advisors and other banks.
Responsibilities
- Deal Origination & Execution: Assist with the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project finance transactions, ensuring alignment with Bank of China’s risk appetite and strategic objectives; attend meetings and conference calls with other banks, clients, legal counsel, financial advisors, due diligence consultants, etc.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Work on complex financial models to assess project feasibility, debt structuring and perform sensitivities.
- Risk Assessment & Due Diligence: Undertake credit and risk analysis on existing and prospective transactions.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, sponsors, other banks and financial advisors.
- Credit Submissions: Prepare or assist in the preparation of credit submissions.
- Portfolio: Prepare annual reviews, monthly or quarterly reports, waiver requests, watchlist reports; respond to information requests from BOC Sydney branch, BOC Head Office and other branches in the BOC global network.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor degree or above in Finance, Economics or Business.
- Minimum of five years of experience in corporate banking, project finance, investment banking, or structured finance, preferably in a leading financial institution or global bank.
- Some industry knowledge of infrastructure, energy, renewables, or natural resources financing is preferred.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, credit risk analysis, and loan structuring; experience with syndicated lending is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives and external partners.
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred.
- Previous experience in corporate banking or structured finance is highly desirable.
