The Role We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a busy team in Clayton on a 6-month contract. This role will support payroll operations across multiple entities, ensuring payroll processes, reporting and statutory obligations are completed accurately and within strict deadlines. This position will work closely with payroll and finance teams to maintain employee payroll data, support reporting activities and assist with payroll related queries. Key Responsibilities Support payroll functions across multiple entities Assist with fortnightly and monthly payroll processing Complete payroll reporting and reconciliations including Payroll Tax, PAYG, Superannuation and WorkCover Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll to general ledger Ensure statutory payroll payments are processed on time Maintain employee payroll data within SAP Provide support with payroll audits and documentation requests Assist with payroll queries from employees and managers Support payroll system upgrades and testing activities Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance Previous experience in a payroll role processing 900 employees Experience with SAP systems preferred Experience with Pay Cat and/or Employment Hero desirable Strong reconciliation and analytical skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced payroll environment Strong communication and organisational skills Benefits Competitive pay Opportunity to work within a collaborative payroll team Exposure to large payroll systems and processes Potential for professional development Remote Area Benefit (for eligible employees) About Toll People Toll People are Australia's most recognised provider of Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain and Warehouse staff.
