We are seeking a highly responsible and certified Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals at our Oakey facility. As a Casual Certified Lifeguard, you will be responsible for preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies, enforcing pool rules, and providing exceptional customer service. This role is part-time and requires availability on weekends and holidays.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area, including the water and deck, to ensure the safety of all swimmers and visitors.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations firmly, yet courteously, to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to any emergency situations, including providing first aid and CPR as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the pool and equipment to ensure their proper functioning and report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Assist in the set-up and breakdown of pool equipment, including chairs, umbrellas, and safety equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, addressing concerns, and maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor towards all patrons.
- Assist with the implementation of swimming programs and lessons for all age groups, including water safety education.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on lifeguarding techniques, emergency procedures, and pool regulations.
- Clean and maintain the pool area, including locker rooms and restrooms, to ensure a clean and inviting environment for all visitors.
**Qualifications**:
- Must possess a current and valid lifeguard certification from an Australian accredited organisation.
- Must be and Australian Citizen
- Ability to Pass Pre-Employment medical, Police Check, Security Check and Drug and Alcohol Screening.
- Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform required rescue techniques confidently.
- Excellent knowledge of water safety practices and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and make quick, informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform lifeguard duties for extended periods, including standing, sitting, and swimming.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Previous lifeguarding experience is preferred but not required.
