Working closely with our experienced kitchen team, you will assist with food preparation, cooking, and presentation across a variety of sections.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and develop your skills in a supportive and professional environment.Preparing meal ingredients; washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruitsPreparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Executive ChefReceive deliveries and verify items are delivered and of good qualityTake inventory of restaurant supplies and notify Executive Chef of low suppliesDiscard expired or spoiled items from stockrooms, refrigerators and freezersPerform cleaning duties and ensure workstations are sanitisedPlating and presenting meal items as instructed by the Executive ChefUnderstand and help manage costs, including labour, food and operational expensesBe reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethicUphold strict health, hygiene and safety standardsPlan and manage food quantities and plating requirementsAbout youQualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training providerProven hospitality hotel kitchen experienceAbility to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), bend and kneelGood reading, writing and basic mathsPositive demeanour with clear English communicationProven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work collaboratively within a multicultural teamFlexible to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidaysComprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and WH&S; standardsDemonstrated experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel (desirable)Right to work in AustraliaCulture and BenefitsSupplied meals during allocated rostered shiftsDiscounted onsite car parkingHow to ApplyIf you have the experience, please submit a cover letter and resume.
