About the role
The Correspondence Officer is responsible for preparing correspondence on behalf of the Chairperson and President of Tribunal and Review Boards, the Manager Tribunal and Review Boards (Registrar), and the Executive Officer, as directed. This includes ministerial submissions, responses to Parliamentary questions, Ombudsman enquiries, complaints, and briefing notes for the Attorney General and Executive Council, in accordance with standards, protocols and timeframes as set by the Department.
The Correspondence Officer researches and drafts correspondence in response to correspondence submitted by offenders (prisoners and parolees) and members of the public, and liaises with stakeholders to resolve matters.
The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience in:
* Preparing high level written documents including ministerial sumbissions, responses to Parliamentary questions, complaints, briefing notes and correspondence undertaking research as it relates to the preparation of such documents.
* Working collaboratively within a small team to achieve common goals, facilitate best practice, and assist management with the implementation of operational plans.
* Contributing to and implementing process change through recognising opportunities, thinking creatively and developing strategies.
* Planning, scheduling and controlling daily work activities effectively and accurately to meet deadlines and priorities of the business area.
* Communicating with a diverse stakeholder base, providing routine advice and contributing to achieving positive outcomes through building professional relationships.
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
