Servicing the Mining, Sugar, Rail, Defence, Maritime, Construction, Transport and Manufacturing industries throughout Queensland, NEM Group is ISO accredited for Quality, Safety and Environment, hold a number of welding qualifications including ISO 9606, 3834 and since our year of establishment in 1997, have successfully completed a vast variety of projects from tender through to commissioning.
We are looking to find the person best suited for the role and will be considering your knowledge, skills, experience, potential for development and future contribution to NEM Group's engineering design and drafting service. The skills you will need include being able to:
• Develop detailed preliminary, planning & final working drawings for in-house workshop & off-site fabrication
• Collaborate with clients, engineering & tech teams to resolve issues & refine details
• Ensure every drawing upholds our company standard and design methodology
• Generate complete workshop and Site packages: Sheet metal, flat-pattern layouts, weld maps, bend allowances
• Assist with laser-cutting exports & CNC programming handover
Essential skills and experience:
• Strong grasp of drafting principles, manufacturing, fabrication & Industry standards
• Exceptional attention to detail across complex drawing sets
• Excellent attention to detail + time-management
Mandatory requirements:
· Possession of a current Queensland driver's license Class C or equivalent license.
· While not mandatory possession of Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent) will be highly regarded
· While not mandatory, previous experience in structural estimating will be highly regarded
· While not mandatory, previous experience in mechanical drafting in fabricated metal or similar
· While not mandatory, previous experience using AutoCAD LT (2D & DXF) and Inventor, SolidWorks and/or TEKLA for 3D prop & mechanism modelling
