About the position
This position reports to the Senior Technical Officer and forms part of a collaborative technical team. The role supports the day‐to‐day operations of the simulation dental laboratories, ensuring that all resources, materials, and equipment are safe, functional, and readily available.
Routine tasks include:
* Operate, maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment, dental chairs and simulation manikins
* Provide safe and clean dental teaching facilities
* Set-up and pack-down of classes
* Maintain the day-to-day running of the sterilization room
* Produce dental models and prepare simulation teeth for practical classes
* Manage consumables
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have;
* Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an advanced diploma qualification and at least one year's subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a diploma qualification and at least two years' subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a Certificate IV and extensive relevant work experience; or completion of a post-trades certificate and extensive (typically more than two years') relevant experience as a technician; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* A dental assistant, dental oral health therapist, dental technician or dental practice manager qualification is essential
* A sound understanding and practical experience of infection prevention and control (according to the Australian Dental Association Guidelines and Standards) in a dental setting
* Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
