Job Overview

The Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of safe, clean drinking water to customers.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and maintain water treatment systems using modern technology and equipment
2. Perform preventative and routine maintenance
3. Operate and optimize treatment systems
4. Complete regular administrative tasks and respond to customer enquiries
5. Work with the Corporation's Water Treatment Plants and facilities in Nagambie, Euroa, Seymour, Broadford and Kilmore


Requirements:


6. A minimum Year 11 education or equivalent trade qualification
7. Understanding of or willingness to learn hydraulics and mechanical plant operations
8. Demonstrated commitment, ability and experience in resolving customer enquiries whilst providing a strong customer focus
9. Physically capable of performing operational and maintenance tasks
10. Ability to carry out mathematical calculations and interpret results
11. Knowledge of or willingness to learn standardised laboratory procedures and practices
12. Experience with or ability to learn computer-based systems
13. Commitment to working as part of an on-call roster for overtime and emergency work as required
14. Strong OHS commitment and focus
15. Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
17. Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills
18. Adaptable, hands-on, and enjoy working outdoors and in all elements
