Job Title: Facilities Manager
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day facilities operations, ensuring a safe and productive work environment. This includes managing maintenance, office services, department projects, initiatives, and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage facilities operations, including maintenance, office services, and department projects.
* Provide oversight on maintenance of offices.
* Manage and train facilities staff.
* Manage contractors and vendors.
* Monitor and maintain security systems, MEP, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and other building systems.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute physical moves and expansions of offices and engineering labs.
* Create project plans and provide project leadership for construction projects, repairs, upgrades, and buildouts.
* Manage repairs and improvements conducted by outside vendors and internal staff.
* Make periodic inspections to determine necessity and execution of repair or renovation plans.
* Estimate, schedule, and control expenses in maintenance operations and projects.
* Ensure compliance with life safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience in facilities management and maintenance.
* Knowledge of compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
* Knowledge and experience to monitor, administer, and maintain security systems, HVAC, fire-control, and all other building systems.
* Experience with project management, value engineering, and building systems.
* Understanding of building codes and EH&S.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Project management skills.
* Ability to work independently without close supervision.
* Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft programs.
* Ability to draft policies, prepare reports, and present information.
* Ability to read blueprints.
* Demonstrates effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Building engineering/construction management background preferred.
* OSHA safety training is a plus.
* High school diploma + 8 years of industry-related experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and manage a team.
This role is based in Carlsbad, CA, with occasional travel to other locations.
