Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Planning Engineer to join our team. This role does not involve staff management, as a dedicated supervisor is already in place. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities within an engineering environment, a deep understanding of technical drawings, and prior experience in CNC machining and fabrication, ideally within the aerospace sector.Key Skills and Experience:Strong problem-solving skills within an engineering environmentComprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, including material specifications, treatments, assembly methods, and geometric tolerancingExcellent communication skillsPrevious experience in a CNC machine shop or fabrication environmentApprentice trained or higher qualificationExperience within the aerospace industryRole Expectations:Review and contract-check all incoming orders entered into our MRP systemAssess production notes and drawings associated with purchase orders to confirm feasibilityEnsure all documentation is complete and confirmation sign-off is recorded in the MRP systemCommunicate with customers regarding any requirements that cannot be metAdvise the programming team of any customer-specific tooling requirements to ensure timely preparationUse the MRP system to plan routings and BOMs, ensuring that work orders are production-ready on scheduleMaintain and regularly update the engineering on-hold log, communicating relevant information to the necessary personnelSkills Required:Strong problem-solving skills within an engineering environmentComprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, including material specifications, treatments, assembly methods, and geometric tolerancingExcellent communication skillsPrevious experience in a CNC machine shop or fabrication environmentApprentice trained or higher qualificationExperience within the aerospace industry
