Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our Road Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing annual recurring programs and standalone projects that improve and extend the lifespan of Council's road network and related infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have 5-plus years' engineering experience in road and civil construction and/or maintenance, with a strong understanding of road surfacing practices including spray sealing and asphalt.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with other members of the Road Maintenance team, Council's infrastructure planning and asset teams, and others across the organisation to deliver holistic improvements in line with allocated budgets.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all stages of project management, including planning, procurement, delivery, during and post-works audits, and project close-out including capitalisation and handover.
* Work closely with other members of the Road Maintenance team, Council's infrastructure planning and asset teams, and others across the organisation to deliver holistic improvements.
* Ensure high-quality results and outcomes through strong engineering judgement, attention to detail, and effective time management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* 5-plus years' engineering experience in road and civil construction and/or maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of road surfacing practices including spray sealing and asphalt.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
