Job Description: SCOFIS is seeking a friendly and organised experienced Medical/Dental Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring the smooth operation of front office activities. Your responsibilities will include managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and providing administrative support to the clinical team. Ideally this is a full time role (9 day fortnight) but we are happy to negotiate 4 days a week for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
1. Front Desk Operations: Greet patients with a warm and professional demeanour, answer phone calls, and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
2. Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, handle cancellations or rescheduling, and ensure that the appointment calendar is efficiently managed.
3. Patient Check-in/Check-out: Assist patients with check-in procedures, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation, and facilitate the check-out process, including scheduling follow-up appointments.
4. Patient Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and office protocols.
5. Billing and Payments: Assist with processing payments, providing cost estimates, and answering billing-related inquiries.
6. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the clinical and administrative teams, including data entry, filing, and handling correspondence.
7. Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the patient's visit.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a dental or medical office setting, preferably in a receptionist or front office role.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to create a welcoming environment for patients.
3. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
4. Proficiency in office management software and scheduling systems.
5. Knowledge of dental/medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
