About the Position
The College is seeking to employ suitably qualified and experienced General Hand. This position provides general assistance across the Facilities and Services area in either a full-time or part-time capacity.
Specific duties include:
* Support maintenance and cleaning tasks across the College, including light replacements, general repairs, and attending to minor plumbing issues, as needed
* Set up and pack down school functions.
* Set up sporting equipment for sports days.
* Assist with pool maintenance.
* Clean drains, gutters and clear sewerage drains.
* Blowing down paths
* Assist the Groundsman with general gardening e.g. hedging, weeding and planting.
* Assist with school holiday projects.
* Be available to cover other Facilities staff due to annual leave or other leave.
* Be available for occasional weekend work and flexible start and finish times.
Qualifications and experience:
* A valid Queensland Working with Children Check Positive Paid Employee Notice.
* Current First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.
* A trades background and/or prior work experience which will facilitate competency in the position.
* Minimum 1-2 years of trades background or relevant work experience is required.
* Knowledge of general facilities maintenance.
* The ability to perform minor repairs to facilities and equipment.
* A valid Queensland drivers' licence
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
