**About the Role**
We are seeking a skilled HR Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play a vital part in providing essential HR support and advice across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager - People Operations and join a collaborative team of Recruitment, Onboarding, Payroll and Administration personnel. Based onsite at our head office, you'll draw on your understanding of industrial instruments and employment law to provide initial advice and support to employees and managers.
This role offers a variety of responsibilities including:
* Acting as a first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, procedures, payroll and entitlements.
* Providing initial advice and information on performance and minor disciplinary matters, escalating more complex issues.
* Assisting with data gathering for workplace investigations.
* Contributing to the development and updating of policies and procedures.
* Reviewing weekly payroll data, checking employment contracts, and assisting with implementing internal processes.
* Drafting HR related documentation.
* Supporting internal performance and remuneration review processes.
**Requirements**
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
* Exposure to and understanding of employment law, the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
* An understanding of payroll processes and the ability to review payroll data.
* The ability to read and interpret industrial instruments.
* Exposure to reviewing employment information and documentation to ensure internal compliance.
Ideal candidates will also have:
* A few years experience in an HR role, such as HR Administration, looking to progress into an HR Advisor position or taking the next step in your HR Advisor career.
* A tertiary education in Human Resources or a related field (not mandatory, but an advantage).
* Experience in the construction, engineering, or mining sector would be an advantage.
